Some of the ministries of PCC

The Presbyterian Church of Chestertown has ministries in many places - from support and care of the membership and the immediate community, to area missions and international projects.

Christian Education

Our regular Sunday Worship includes programs for children, age specific for toddlers, elementary, middle school and high school students. For those in grades 6-12, a worship and service program meets monthly. For more informatio on Children and Service, click here.

Adult education and bible study is available through weekly groups or short term classes with a specific focus.

Vacation Bible School is held every summer drawing in many children from the community

Fellowship and Nurture

Fellowship is second nature to PCC- every week a fellowship time follows the worship service. Additionally, we have an annual church picnic, a fall harvestfest and other fellowship celebrations throughout the year.

Although our church reaches out to support and nurture each other every day, the Deacons group is the formal method of nurturing- following up with those ill or in need, offering welcome baskets to those who are new, and always caring about each church member.

Ever changing activities can be viewed on the calendar at the church website.

Mission and Outreach

As PCC, we support the mission program of the PCUSA and the Presbytery of New Castle and reach out to work with partners both locally and globally. We support financially (and with many volunteers) the local ministries of the Food Pantry, Good Neighbor Fund, Rebuilding Together , and many others. We have a partnership with the Matiki congregation in Malawi, support the work of PCUSA missionaries Ted and Sue Wright (in Zambia), and financially support a variety of global ministries which witness to the good news of Jesus Christ in a variety of ways. From "Christmas Shoeboxes"  to monthly collections for the Kent County Food Pantry, to Gulf Coast volunteer work teams, to scholarships for students in Malawi … PCC believes that our own faith is strengthened as we share and receive God’s word, and help others with quiet and profound deeds.

Worship and Praise

Regular worship is at 9:30 each Sunday morning. During Christmas and other special holidays, additional services are scheduled, such as Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Easter Sunrise or Good Friday.

PCC has a very strong music ministry evident through the choir, organist, director of music and handbells. Practice for each of these groups is normally on a weekly basis.
